Coatesville Fires

Coatesville, PA is about a half an hour from where we live. The arson fires made national news this week and were reported on Good Morning America. This was the latest fire in a lengthy, ongoing series of arsons and suspicious fires that have plagued the city and surrounding communities for more than a year, prompting officials to declare states of emergency. Nearly all of the arsons have involved trash, debris and porches. No arrests have been made for any of this year’s intentionally set fires. Local, county, state and federal authorities are investigating more than 40 arsons that have occurred in the area since January 2008. Local investigators arrested two adults and charged one juvenile in December for several arsons — including a fatal fire — but the arsons continue.

  1. I also saw that report on GMA. Very scary. This would keep me up at night! Hope they catch the arsonists soon! Terrible!

On a side note, we have recently switched from watching Today to GMA. I have watched the Today show since the days of Jane Pauley and Bryant Gumble.... but I have gotten sick and tired of the Today hosts being sooo smooshy gooshy ooey gooey lovey dovey all the time. Will miss Lenny, tho... the man who is always outside in the crowd....
