My first customer...

I did it! I gave my dad notice. The end of March I will not longer be working for him. In April I will begin a new chapter in my life. I have decided to watch children in my home and have "day camp". I put an ad in the paper and I am hoping to get a response. My sister put the word out at her church, a friend belongs to a "moms club" and is telling everyone about me. I have also been on the phone trying to let everyone and anyone know my plans. Word of mouth goes a long way! One of the hockey mom's from Brandon's team has a little girl, Zoey. Zoey goes to day care right now and her mom said that she would love to have me keep Zoey. Zoey is my first customer!! I can't wait until April! And the cutest thing is Zoey calls me "Aunt Tami"!

  1. Good for you! And brave! It takes guts to make a big life change like that. I'm proud of you. I had a friend who ran a day care in her home for several years and she always had a full roster of clients. It was a profitable, steady business. Not always easy, as I'm sure you know... but along with the chaotic moments, there were some peaceful and sweet ones. I'm guessing you're going to have alot to blog about! Good luck!

  2. I was just wondering what I was going to do with my boys this summer! A day camp sounds great! Can you stick them on a plane at the end of the day back to minneapolis? The boys had the day off school today and I am beat! Tami, I am so happy for you! Like I said, I wish you were around when my boys were young. Zoey, you are so lucky to be Aunt Tami's first customer!
    Tami, GOOD LUCK!!
