Penn State Scandal

"Joe Paterno was stunned that Penn State's Board of Trustees fired him Wednesday night amid a child sex-abuse scandal".  Stunned...Really???
A graduate-assistant coach witnessed former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy in a shower. He told Paterno, who told campus police, who let the trail go cold.  It is obvious Penn State official covered up what Sandusky did over a lengthy time period.  It wasn't until recently Sandusky was charged with 40 counts of child sexual abuse in one of college sports' most disturbing scandals ever.

Yes, Paterno reported the incident; however, he did not follow up when nothing was done.  What about moral ethics?  What about the boys who were abused?  So please shed no tears for Paterno. Save your pity for the boys who will most likely grow up into tortured men, not Paterno  . Spare me the perceived unfair treatment over Paterno getting fired over the phone.

If Paterno had picked one up 13 years ago and called law-enforcement officials, not just the top campus cop, he might have saved countless boys from a pedophile — and quite likely his job, his school and his legacy.
