Wednesday Hodgepodge!

1. Of all the tools and gadgets you own which do you most enjoy using?
I'd have to say my gardening tools.  I love to be outside in the garden.  It brings me so much peace, not to mention time away from my busy life.

2. When (if ever) is impatience a virtue?
My close friends know that my childhood wasn't ideal.  Instead of using a poor childhood as an excuse not to better myself I use that impatience for a better life as a catalyst for change.

3. What temperature do you keep your thermostat set to in winter? Do you have another way to heat your house besides a furnace of some type?
Thermostat is set to 72.  We have a wood burning stove in our finished basement.

4. Do/did you have a close relationship with any of your grandparents?
I had a close relationship with my grandfather.  He passed away a few years ago.  Before he passed I made him a scrapbook of his years in the Navy.  He served during WWII.  He loved it and I think it's the only time I've ever seen him cry.

5. When did you last have a family portrait taken?
1999.  UGH! Time for a new one!

6. What does the word patriotism mean to you?
When I think of patriotism, think of pride and love for the country we live in.  Respecting and honoring the military and veterans.  Hanging the USA flag proudly, saying the Pledge of Allegiance in school.  Also simple things like helping your fellow neighbor, apple pie, and 4th of July.

7. Do you like to play cards and if so, what's your favorite card game?
LOVE IT!  Gin rummy and Pinochle.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
This is the first Wednesday Hodgepodge I have done.  Check out Joyce's blog to join in the fun!
