Wednesday Hodgepodge - Vol 60

1. What are three words you would use to describe your 2011?
  • Relief (to have a diagnosis)
  • Beginning (of a healing process)
  • Peace (inner and emotional)
2. Do you like shrimp? What's your favorite way to have it prepared?

  • Sorry, I'm allergic!

3. Is your house de-Christmased? If so when did you tackle that job? If not, when will the decorations come down?

  • Day after New Years is my "tradition" to take down the tree and decorations. I was a day late this year.

4. Do you like to watch scary movies?

  • Somewhat scary, but not gory like the movie Halloween.

5. ice skating~sledding~skiing~snowboarding~of the four listed which wintertime activity do you most enjoy?

  • Ice Skating! (I'm a hockey mom!)

6. Did you have a childhood hideout? Describe it.

  • My bedroom.  It was on the third floor and my place to escape and read.

7. What's a place or space that motivates you?

  • I have a nook in my bedroom that I converted into a scrapbook area.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

  • January is National:
      • Hot Tea Month
      • Soup Month
      • Staying Healthy Month
      • Oatmeal Month

                                    Do I detect a theme?

Have a wonderful day! Don't forget to check out Joyce's Blog for more Wednesday Hodgepodge ~ AND to join in the fun!

  1. I LOVE it when you do a HODGEPODGE entry. I'm glad you have a diagnosis. And are getting healthy. I don't watch gory movies either. Don't want those kind of images in my head. Our decorations are up until the 6th. We celebrate Twelve Days of Christmas. I learned something new about January. Hot tea and Soup month. Wonder how I'll celebrate. LOL Take care.

  3. I'm with you on enjoying scary movies but not the gory ones. The appeal of that totally escapes me! And my decorations come down on Jan. 2nd too! Hot tea and soup sound good. We should do a Soup Recipe Swap on our blogs and get others to catch on! Hmmm.. wonder how I could make that fit in with a pet theme?? ;)

  5. Glad for your diagnosis and that you are on the right path. Very good!

I LOVE shrimp! and since we are discussing shellfish, Alaskan Oysters too, raw on the half shell. The best in the world.

Ice skating- like to watch the skaters. There is an old fashioned Victorian Family Skate coming up soon. If I can figure out when they are doing it I will be on hand with my camera. The folks dress in Victorian costumes, there is a horse pulled sleigh ride, very adorable.

I love oatmeal. In fact I am about to grind some rolled oats up soon to put into a smoothie!

  10. I'm with ya on #4. Give me a good clean romantic comedy any day! I don't even like movies like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. If husband and daughter are needing their 'fix' you'll find me doing my 'fix' in the craft room!
