50 Shades of Grey

WARNING: This could be considered R rated material to some readers.

I have been MIA and haven't had the time to blog this week.  I've been reading 50 Shades of Grey, the first book of the Grey trilogy by E.L. James.
Have you heard of it?  If not, you should!  It rocked my world, so to speak.

I am so engrossed in this book, I cannot put it down.  Why? Because the author is giving me the reader what I they want.  A whole lot of S.E.X!

  • Christian Grey (a man with a whole lot of money, good looks and particular sexual tastes).
  • Anastasia Steele (a woman who graduated WSU, gorgeous but doesn't know it and inexperienced sexually).

The story is told by Ana with her voice of reason and her 'inner goddess'.  It can be quite entertaining and humorous.   I like Ana's repetitive "holy crap!" and "holy Moses".  Most of the 'erotic' stuff isn't as X-rated as you would think.  Sure there are A LOT of sex scenes and quite frankly I have no idea how Ana can keep up with Christians insatiable desire.

Christian is portrayed as one hot dude, which I picture as Henrik Lundqvist.  (NY Rangers Goalie - of course I'd pick a hockey guy, 'cmon!)

Christian is domineering, manipulative, moody and a control freak.  Ana feels like she is 'walking on eggshells' around him.  In the real world we would call this behavior emotional abuse.

Since this book is a work of Fiction I will read on…

  2. What does it say about my life when I had to google "Fifty Shades of Grey" this past weekend just so I could figure out what all the hub-bub (and SNL skit) was all about??

  3. I am reading it but don't like it. I don't find the plot believable-- I cannot imagine these 2 evergetting together in real life. Not sure if I can finish it. Not well written either. Just sayin... xoxo

  6. Just so you know, I read all three in 3 days... I was more interested in the plot than the erotica.
