TGIF

So much has happened since last week.
I didn't have much time to post - so here it is in a nutshell.

~I GOT A BLOG MAKE OVER.  "Happy Dance, Happy Dance"  Not Just A Hockey Mom has changed to Pretty Purplexing.  You can go to this post to see the reason why.

~My oldest son moved out last weekend.  We helped him sort thru what he wanted, what he didn't and what was trash.  Amazing to find that 5 trash bags full were trash!  My son is either a hoarder or just plan to lazy.

~We ordered new carpet for son #1 (the movee) and son #2's bedrooms.   We tried prices from Lowe's and two smaller business'.  We chose a smaller business. Although it was a few $100 more, we thought the quality of the installation would be much better.

~We are playing musical chairs but with bedrooms instead. Son #3 has claimed rights to Son #1's room. Son #2 is moving into a room we have in our finished basement.  My scrapbook room will go into Son #2's old room and hubby's office will go into Son #3s old room.  Did I confuse you?

~We are getting an ADT system installed today.  (It has nothing to do with Son #1 moving out. LOL).  We've had a few break-ins in our neighborhood recently and I feel much better having a security system.

~ I finally got some pepper and tomato plants and planted them in my garden.  I planted lettuce, spinach and cucumber by seed about a month ago, but it's been so dry I didn't think they would make it. Thanks so much needed rain, the lettuce and spinach are now thriving and the cucumber has sprouted.

~The waterfall in our pond wasn't working.  It was dripping.  I could not figure out why.  I tore apart the pumps and hoses looking for a leak or blockage.  Finally it dawned on me to clean the filter!  Egads! That was one nasty task!

UPCOMING
~Hubby and I will be painting the two bedrooms this weekend and tearing up the old carpets.  Hopefully one of us will be alive by Monday.

  1. Wow...gracious sakes alive, you and your family have been and WILL be busy!! My goodness. But, y'know I love to do interior decorating in my house, so if you're like me, you'll enjoy it all...from start and then....to the beautiful new look!!

Gardening...how I wish I had a place this year. I was either too lazy or just not ambitious enough to even consider it. But, thank goodness for farmer's markets.

What color of carpet are you getting?

And, by the way...love your layout.

  2. New carpet and paint! I agree with supporting small business, good for you! Rite of passage......#1 Son will find out how good he had it at home now that he has to do his own cooking and get his own treats and supplies. and hope in his new place he has a washer and dryer!! There is no place like home but once you leave, time for ADT!! LOL!!!!

  4. I think you'll be glad you got the small business because I've heard Lowe's doesn't stand behind their installations....just heard it, not a personal observation. We have a small business and our son is a pharmacist in a small town drugstore so we are all about supporting the small businesses in our community!

So one's flying out of the nest.....all of ours are out and I've grown to love the quietness of the house. I also love for them to visit, but am not sad when they leave again.

You have a whole lot of moving going on! After our bathroom remodel I am glad to be finished with that for now. Good for you on the gardening. I keep threatening to garden, but then I don't follow through!
Have a great weekend, hope you and your husband come out alive! :)

  15. LOVe the new blog. It suits you. Funny hearing about the musical bedrooms. That happened here when my daughters moved out. But now the whole upstairs is storage and a mess. Take care.

    1. Right now everything is out of the two bedrooms and in my room. What a mess. We can't put anything back together until Tuesday night. We are installing new carpet on Tuesday.
