Friday

Head on over and see what everyone has been up to this week!

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Hockey Tournament and Zachary's surgery are all done!
Now I can move on with Christmas.
~
Zachary hung up our Christmas lights.
This weekend I am decorating the inside of our home.
~
Hubby doesn't know it yet, but he is getting a tree this weekend.  We always get a live tree.  Hubby always gets one too tall and ends up cutting part of the tree off.
~
Have I mentioned how much I love my guy?!?!
~
We finally got our first estimate for our siding, gutter, garage door and light repairs that happened during Hurricane Sandy.   I'm waiting for a few more before we make a final decision.
I don't mind waiting, there are so many other people who need repairs more urgently than I.
~
Zachary is back to school.
~
Nothing exciting happened this week.
Wait… I take that back...
~
During Wednesday night hockey game Brandon scored a top shelf goal from the blue line.
If you don't get hockey lingo… just trust me… that's a good thing!
**That's right! I'm a proud Mama!**
~
Have a good weekend!

  1. Sounds like you had an awesome week! It IS the most wonderful time of the year!

We got a live tree this year. Thankfully the hubs didn't have to cut anything. Our tree and his limbs are intact.

  2. We're too small around here for a tree - - - but I decorate a large lighted wreath on the patio door. Did that last night.

Just a few more decorating "touches" and I'm calling it quits for this year.

  6. Yay for insurance and repairs! I am glad it was just your siding and not a total house condemnation. We also do a live tree and I have to laugh. We always have a good tree story. One year the tree was a softer one and the pegs got embedded in the trunk, so the tree fell onto my son. Wahoo for the blue line goal shot!!

  12. did he beat that goalie "like a rented mule?" LOL
I guess I miss hockey more than I thought!

I look after one girl on a part time basis. she is only here a couple of days a week at most. But word has spread that "there's a woman who takes kids..." Um no. I have 1 child I watch - in addition to my own 3. That's enough for me. I don't think I could officially have a day care, while me own are still so young. I stayed home to be with them - not other people's kids. ha

  13. Years ago when we bought live trees, I would always cut a little off the bottom so that it would soak up the water better. I hated the frustration of getting the tree to stand up straight.

I often wonder why we don't make the Christmas scene look more like the terrain of Israel (sand, rocks).

  14. We cut our own tree for the first time this year. So fun!

  15. Impressive shot!

I would have loved to have a live tree, but we have cats. And one of them munches on the fake needles. Sigh

  16. Your Todd is a great guy....but he is the lucky one! Thought of watching a baby terrifies me but I think they grow so fast I can see why you'd like it. Have a great weekend!

  17. I went to meet my friend's new baby girl and just adored holding that little baby in my arms.

  18. The funniest part was that he just stood there while we were scrambling to get it off him. Once we had it upright, he calmly reached out and placed the ornament that was still in his hand. What a character!!!!

  19. Isn't it the best feeling in the world to hold something so small and precious!

  20. I love the smell of newborn babies, the cooing noises they make and they way their little hand wraps around your finger. :-)

  21. It can be fun. And adventurous if you have little ones running around the tree farm.

  22. I leave the tree stand to hubby. I get to do the fun part of decorating. :-)

  23. LOL! The goalie never saw it coming!
I got started by watching a neighbor's son. It grew from there. Of course now my boys are teenagers and I am still changing diapers. LOL

  24. We have two cats. They sniff around it, but haven't tried to climb it. I probably just jinxed myself and they will try it this year. LOL

  25. Congrats to your son : ) We just had our gable repaired following storm damage. It wasn't a huge repair so he worked it in between jobs. Good luck with all yours...its hard to think about people who've lost whole houses and loved ones. We are definitely fortunate.

  26. I agree. I cannot even comprehend the devastation people are dealing with. :(
