Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

TV
Counting down the days! 10… count them….10 more days until THE VOICE!

AUNT TAMI'S HOUSE
I've been watching a 7 month old boy in my daycare.  I am EXHAUSTED!  One forgets how much work a baby can be!  He is only with me one more week. Then I can treat myself to a much needed mini vacation. :-)

Celebrating St. Patricks Day this week.  Leprechaun snack in a treat bag was a big hit!   Mix Lucky Charms (Leprechaun food), Corn Pops (gold) and mini M&Ms (rainbow).

MEDICAL
My father called me to let me know my Nanny passed away late last night.  I am glad I took the trip a few months ago to see her when she was still able to enjoy the visit.

Teddy's insulin count is still way too high. We visit the vet again tonight. Hopefully better news this time.

HOCKEY
Brandon's hockey season came to an end last weekend. Bittersweet. I will miss his games, but will enjoy the free weekends.

Flyers are in last place in the Atlantic Division. Boo!

NEWS
Did you hear the uproar Google is creating again by getting rid of Google Reader?  I'm kinda ticked off at Google. It seems as if they keep getting rid of products that I like and use! Grrrr.

ADDICTIONS
I ate way too many ranch/bacon fries this week!  But OH they were SO good!

Stopping by the McDonlad's drive thru for Sweet Tea is becoming a bad habit.

Happy Weekend Friends!

  1. Hope your Nanny is comfortable. Yes I just read about the reader being dropped. Has me wondering about their commitment to the blogger platform. Did I read that french fry fragment correctly? McDonalds has ranch/bacon fries? Where have I been?

  2. Leprechaun snack sounds fun for kids (providing they don't eat too much and get a sugar high)

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope they take good care of her at the hospice.

Sorry about your dog. I hope they get that under control.

Lastly, DON'T go to McDonald's. Bad, Tami! Bad. :-)

  3. Since posting about my Nanny being in hospice care, she passed away. Even though I knew it was coming, I still cried like a baby. :(
McDonalds doesn't have the ranch/bacon fries. If they did I'd be in BIG trouble.

  4. I sent the Leprechaun snack home with them. LOL

  5. It is always sad when the sports season comes to an end. I missed the games and seeing the folks that I shared the bleachers with week after week. Have a good weekend!

  6. I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. {{hug}} There's always an empty spot created when a sports season comes to an end. Ranch bacon fries - oh my goodness! I can see where they'd be addicting!! My Blues got off to a great start this season, but since then they've been average at best. I think they're still in contention for a playoff spot - just barely. I watched part of the Flyers-Caps game Wednesday night.

  7. Sweet tea? If you've been to Texas, sweet tea is like drinking cake frosting it's so sweet. I haven't watched a hockey game in so long. Losing a loved one is always so hard for those left behind. And I agree, seeing her before she was ill and passed away will always be such a fond memory.

  8. Hahaha, I never did kin to sweet tea. It was a real shock in the south when we ordered tea and it came that way. They looked at us like aliens when we asked if they had any un sweet.

I am sorry to hear about your Nanny. I too am glad you had the chance to visit with her.

Yes, google is ticking me off. I am seriously contemplating moving to a self hosted one, except that I really love being able to code blogger the way I want to. I can really personalize so much. But I just feel like sticking with blogger will someday find me 'homeless'. That would be horrible.

I hope you guys enjoy your weekends and that you breath deeply when the baby goes. Little guys are so exhausting!!!

  9. I do love the Voice, but wonder how I'll like the two new judges. So sorry about your Nanny and I am glad you made that trip, you'll never regret that. I can't imagine keeping a 7 month old, but you're much younger than I am so if it exhausts you, it would kill me. Love those leprechaun treats!!! I don't think I use google reader but i'm such a genius I wouldn't know! :)

  10. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Nanny! :( ((HUGZ!!))

Hopefully they'll get Teddy's sugar levels figured out.

I'm not sure what Google is thinking getting rid of the Reader (which, apparently, will also eliminate or mess up the RSS feeds, too - I'm not really wanting to switch over to paid RSS feeds, it just seem so wrong and more trouble than it's worth).

I do love me some McD's sweet tea - probably a good thing there isn't one near here or I'd be addicted, too. ;)

I love the caramel frappe at Mc Donald's but don't stop too often. My addiction is the iced chai latte at Starbucks... Hope Teddy will get better. Fingers crossed. :)

  12. So sorry about your Nanny. Babies are a lot of work no way i could do that day after day I'd be falling asleep mid day! I've been hitting Mickey D's for a few too many Shamrock Shakes...need to go on a diet after Easter....girls gotta have her peeps! Happy weekend!

  13. I find my Google reader to be overwhelming and rarely look at it. Remember that spreadsheet that I made for keeping in touch with bloggers? That's what I go to when I have time to visit randomly. I just shared it with you, in case you want to make a copy and adjust it for your own use.

    Sorry about your Nanny.
