Epson vs. Adobe vs. MacBoo Pro

I L.O.V.E. to scrapbook.  So much so that my husband bought me a very good photo printer by Epson years ago.  With my Windows laptop it worked GREAT!  The pictures were gorgeous.

After time, my Window lap top was experiencing difficulties.  Hubby convinced me to try a MAC laptop.  I did and I love it!

However,  I haven't been able to print good quality pictures since then.  It's beyond frustrating at this point. Every time I think I have the solution.. BAM… NOPE...it's a major tease!

I AM READY TO THROW THE LAPTOP THRU A WINDOW!

I have tried three different software programs with no luck.

I've contacted Adobe and Epson. Each one blames the other.

I have tried updating the printer drivers.

I have tried to adjust the settings on the computer.

I tried printing off of a friends printer.

I have had two people look at it and they both walked away equally stumped.

I tried buying a new photo printer…. same poor quality prints.

Trust me when I say I have tried it all!  The pictures all come out poorly.

Whats even more frustrating is that if I take the pictures to CVS, they print beautifully!
AND
If my husband prints pictures from his desktop, using the same program, to the same printer… the pictures are gorgeous!

I honestly think it's the way my laptop is communicating with the printer.

My NEW solution….

HONEY, I WANT A NEW LAPTOP FOR MOTHER'S DAY!

  1. When inexpensive ink-jet color printers hit the market years ago I started printing pictures. As you must know the paper makes a big difference. Between the ink and paper I realized it was easier and less expensive to just have a photo site print them. I'm a big mac fan and a little surprised your mac doesn't handled this well. Macs are big in the advertising world. It sounds like you tried all the obvious fixes. Oh if that desktop is a windows machine then your husband is not using the same program. Yes it's the same brand name (Adobe I gather) but if it is running on different operating systems then it's different.
I know this is an extra step but from what you said why don't you just do your work on the photos transfer and print from the desktop?

  3. Todd's desktop is also a MAC. My Mother's Day present was a new mac laptop. I haven't tried printing pictures yet. Crossing my fingers that it works. :)

  4. Sooooo....I'm a bit late ......did you get one? I love to do digital scrapbooking, but haven't in awhile -- we don't even have ink in our printer.

  5. I love it! I'm HORRIBLE about printing photos, but I would be so frustrated if they didn't print the way they should. Personally, I think a new laptop is a very sound solution ;)

  6. Hmm, I have a 5 year old MacBook Pro and a 2 year old Hewlett Packard printer and my print quality is fantastic. I am so sorry you're having trouble. I'm a scrapbooker too and know who very frustrating that can be.

Hope a new laptop is in your future!
