Wave the White Flag {Wednesday Hodgepodge}

1. What's the biggest change since your childhood in the way people think or act?
Inter-racial dating / marriage.  When I was in high school, Caucasian girls who dates african american boys were considered (pardon my language) whores.  Unfortunately racism still exists but I do see more people and the younger generations viewing inter-racial as two people who love each other, not something wrong and dirty.

2. The Olympic Biathlon involves cross country skiing broken up with either two or four rounds of target shooting. Which part of that would stress you out more? Or would you love them both equally?
Skiing scares the crap out of me.  I tried it once as a teenager and had a panic attack.  Target shooting sounds like F U N!

3. February is National Canned Food Month...what is your most often purchased canned food item?  What was in the last can you opened?
I do not purchase a lot of canned food.  I prefer to eat fresh food from the produce section.  I do buy Campbell soups.  Last can I opened was tomato soup.  I love tomato soup and grilled cheese on a cold winter day.

4. What river (anywhere in the world) would you most like to cruise?
I suppose the Colorado River at the Grand Canyon.  I live on the east coast of the USA and have never traveled to the west.

5. It's the middle of the night and you can't sleep...what do you do? Count sheep? Toss and turn? Watch television? Or do you get up and do something productive?
Read.

6. How important is keeping your cool?
Oh my.  Very important.  I take medication for bi-polar.  If I forget to take it, I begin to rage.  It's not very pretty and I feel like crap.

7. I've got white stuff on the brain so why not run with it? White lie, wave the white flag, white knuckle it, white wash a situation, or white as a sheet...which phrase could most recently apply to your own life in some way?
Wave a white flag.  We have so much snow and our snow blower broke.  I wave the white flag to mother nature.  I give up trying to keep the driveway clear!!

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Zachary and I leave for FL on Thursday.  He will be attending Full Sail University.  I can't wait to be in 85 degree weather, feel sunshine on my face and wear flip flops!!

  2. Perfect timing on that Florida trip! We pay someone to plow our driveway as it is long, steep, and hubs travels too much. We snow blow the sidewalk and patio and a path into the grass for our dog. We still have to deal with the entrance to the driveway because after our guys plow the county does the roads and blocks us in. It is a never ending thing this winter. Can I sneak into your suitcase???

  11. Have fun in FL. I'm totally sick of the snow. It finally started to melt the last two days.
I've only been to the Grand Canyon once. Unbelievable, a must see type of trip. We didn't go down into the canyon but visited a number a sites and also included the cliff dwellers of Mesa Verde National park in our trip. The southwest is so different than the populated areas of our country.

  12. there is nothing better than tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwhich on a bitter cold day! that's what we had after sledding.
thankfully we had a somewhat warm day today, and some of the driveway snow melted.
Have fun in your flip flops! take some pics of sun, surf and sand for those of us stuck in white stuff for another couple of months.
