Is 41 a magical number?

Last week I celebrated my 41st birthday. Well I shouldn't really say "celebrated" because everyone (except my husband) caught a virus, H1N1, sinus infection.... you name it, we had it! We are starting the become healthy now! Finally!

Tonight Todd and I are going out to dinner with good friends of ours. I can't wait! It's been awhile since we had a "date" night or time to ourselves. Todd has been working a lot of extra hours tutoring after school since I don't have my full time job anymore. We get so caught up in the day to day activites and the kids sports/guitar lessons/schooling. Does anyone else find this happens? I love my husband so much, but I am still afraid that one day the kids will be gone and we will look at each other and say "who are you?".

After a run of what I call "bad luck" but really just boils down to depression: I have concluded that 40 wasn't a great year for me so that must mean that 41 is my magical number!! It has to be, for my sanity! Wish me luck!!

  1. Hope your night was a nice one, and that your 42nd year is a better one for you. We get so caught up in being busy that there's not much 'us' time left. It's good that you recognize that though rather than just going through the next few years blissfully unaware, because then it may well be too late. It's just a season of life thing.
