Hodgepodge Wednesday

1. What song reminds you of a specific time in your life and what is it about that song that makes you remember?
Beautiful in My Eyes by Joshua Kadison.  Our wedding song!

2. What's something you've given up on?
That I am not perfect.  I am such a perfectionist and it has taken me a very long time to realize things wont always go as planned and thats OKAY!

3. What's something you'll never give up on?

4. If you had to cook something from scratch in the next hour what would it be?
Beef Stew.  In fact that's what I am making for dinner tonight.

5. Have you started Christmas shopping? Decorating? Listening to Christmas music?
I host Thanksgiving in my home and have those decorations up until the Friday after.  Over Thanksgiving weekend, we take it all down... and put up the Christmas decorations.  If we are adventurous we even get our tree that weekend!

6. What do you know about your parent's wedding?
My mother looked gorgeous, my parents drove away in a blue convertible, the flowers were daisy, my grandmother made her own dress, my mom was pregnant with ME!

7. I can't believe I am lucky to have a wonderful and generous husband, three great boys and surrounded by so many loving friends.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
For someone who portrays a lot of confidence, deep down inside I am not confident nor do I have a lot of self esteem.  I constantly doubt myself and think I do not deserve the good in my life.  I have to repeat positive thoughts in order to get through those bad times I believe the worst in myself.

  1. love todays answers.....You do deserve happiness and all the good things in life my friend! Chin up!!

  2. I do understand your random thought. I grew up feeling that way (not sure if it was my well-meaning, critical mother or my very judgmental, legalistic church or just ME), but I'm finding I need to give MYSELF a lot of grace because God does too. :)

Now I'm craving beef stew ... sigh ... can I come over for dinner??! :)

  3. Thanks girls!
And Conny: Hop on a train, plane or automobile. Dinner is at 5pm! ;-)

  4. I too, am not as confident as I appear to be. I care WAY too much about what people think :(

Good for you for waiting until Thanksgiving weekend to start decorating for Christmas :)

  5. I think to a certain degree many, if not most, women have that same feeling. Sometimes its hard work to control our thoughts!

Beef stew sounds good...I haven't made that in a while. It's definitely a winter dinner for me.

Hope you have a good day!
