Doesn't the 10 commandments say "Thou shall not commit murder". That is exactly what those parents did by not seeking medical help for their son! I'd like to be a fly on the wall when these parents meet their maker.
I am not trying to attack a persons religion. Everyone has a right to their choice of religion. BUT I personally think the parents are taking the literal translation from the bible out of context. I also believe strongly that the parents are guilty of neglect.
Sadly, this case is one of many in which parents have been responsible for neglecting to seek medical attention for their children. Should they be held criminally responsible?
What are your thoughts?
Yes they are guilty of neglect! It's a sad and senseless death.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. I remember reading about a case where the parents refused to get their son treatment for cancer and the court actually made them do it. How can you not want to help your child regardless of what religion you belong to? Makes me sad and mad...
ReplyDeleteYes they are guilty (If I was a juror). What a senseless death and waste of a precious young life. This made me sad.
ReplyDeletesad, very sad. I certainly believe in the power of prayer and would most definitely have them annoited with oil by our Pastor...but I am no fricking idiot. and God doesn't expect me to be. In fact, I rather think He expects me to make use of those individuals He has gifted with the talent TO HEAL people - whether that be a faith healer, or a doctor, surgeon, etc. hellooooo!
ReplyDeletelet's practice a little wisdom people.
Personally, I do think they are guilty of neglect in a way...but it's also a very fine line because in USA and Canada, you are free to practice the religion of your choice. That's the beauty of freedom - it's for all. The downside is -- not everyone has the wisdom to use it correctly.
free will is indeed a b$tch at times.
