Wednesday Hodgepodge

#99!  Let's head over From This Side Of The Pond to join Joyce and all other bloggers who participate in Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1.  So, do you like beer?
Bluck, no.  Even the smell of beer turns my stomach.  I love wine! Sweet wine though. Moscato is my favorite.

2.  What's your least favorite repetitive task?
Cleaning the stove.  I'm not sure why, but I hate it!

3.  When was the last time you rode a bus?  Where was it headed?
My son's class trip to Washington DC. That was at least 5 years ago.

4.  What song from your childhood or from your own children's childhood could make a parent's nerves stand on end?
I can't think of a nursery rhyme that would do that.  From my teenage years I listened to 'Hair Bands' like Motley Crue, and Poison. -Don't Judge: It was the 1980s!-  I'm sure any of those songs drove my parents nuts.  More so the sounds that the lyrics.  I am from the age of MTV.  THAT definitely drove my parents nuts. Not only did they have to 'hear' the music, now they had to 'see' it too.

5.  The US Presidential election cycle is drawing to a close (can I get an AMEN??), and the third and final debate was held last night...what was the last thing you 'debated about'?
I am currently debating wether or not I should cut back the attendance in my daycare.  It's a hard choice because I love all the kids and I get along with all the parents. However, the stress is becoming to much.  It's long hours and I am exhausted at the end of the day.

6.  Can a person make too much money?  How much is too much?
Well I cannot argue that I'd like to have more money.  I don't need millions and millions to make me happy. I think people who have too much money are so caught up in materialistic items instead of what is really important in life.  There are others who are living in poverty and need the money.  Why can't we share the wealth? Doesn't everyone deserve to have a roof over their heads and food in their belly?

7.  Pop-soda-coke-something else...what's it called where you live?
Soda.  I don't call is coke because I am a Pepsi drinker.  My BFF is from Michigan and she used to call it Pop.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

18 pretty purplexing comments:

  1. I like very dry wines...don't care for the sweet ones at all. I would imagine running an at home day care is exhausting, but its sure nice for the parents and their littles. Hope you figure out a solution that works for you!

  2. Good luck with the daycare decision. I would have a hard time cutting back. I'd get attached to the kids and hate to see them go.

  3. I can't imagine running a daycare, even as much as I love and adore kids! I'm sure the days are very long. Best of luck with your decision...I know it won't be an easy one to make. I detest cleaning the stove, doesn't stay clean long enough!

  4. That random thought is AWESOME!! :)

    Oh mercy - I still love 80's hairbands!!! :)

  5. I love your random thought! Such excellent advice. :)

  6. Awesome! I'm giving you an award!

  7. Random thought is Brillant! Running a day care out of yourhomemust bevery hard, God bless you for that.

  8. Love the random thought too funny! I guess we can still be friends even though you don't like beer...I like wine too so a bottle of wine to share some day!

  9. How many kids do you watch? I say soda too. I just love Auntie Acid....I follow her on Facebook.

    1. I watch 9 children, but not all at the same time. Some are part time and I don't have them every day.

  10. Perfect Random! Gonna have to keep that in mind!

  11. Love "Anty Acid". I've gotta try that trick!

  12. I can't do beer either, it just tastes terrible to me!
    LOVED the hair bands!!

  13. I call it diet Pepsi :).

My hated repetitive job is laundry, it is truly never ending!

Sort of on the debate question, combined with the money question.....we aren't rich, but are blessed because my husband worked his way through college roofing and working on a road crew. He then went into business, eventually and by working long hours, became successful. He is over 60 now and is the first to work and the last to leave and works 10 hours most every day and sometimes many more. If things are bad, he is the one who doesn't take a paycheck. Sharing the wealth doesn't work for a simple reason......some people for whatever reason, just don't work as hard as others. Some work really hard and never make a lot of dad. We do share our income, but do not want the government to tell us how to do that. Hope that wasn't too controversial!

  14. Not a fan of beer either! I love 80's Hair Bands and I'm a big fan of Power Ballads. Love your #8!!

  15. I don't like beer either, it stinks and it taste even worse. My ex used to tell me just hold your nose and drink it, you'll eventually get used to it and like it. NOT!!!
I am one of four kids and we were always allowed to listen to our music, usually in our rooms. I do not know how my parents kept their sanity. I loved the Osmonds, Caprenters, etc. what my Mom called "Bubble Gum Music". My brothers listened to Cheech and Chong or hard rock. My sister was younger and shared my room so she was stuck with what I listened to. It had to drive them nuts.
