A Necessary Luxury {Wednesday Hodgepodge}

1. Are you doing anything special to mark this season of Advent? If so please share.
We have a candle display on our kitchen table. There a 5 candles.  4 purple, 1 white. Each purple candle represents a week prior to Christmas. The white candle in the middle represents Christ and Christmas.  Every week we light a candle.

2. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen...and of course you recall, the most famous reindeer of, which reindeer name best describes you this week?
Comet.  Cleaning like crazy to keep the germs down to a minimum.  I don't want to be sick on Christmas.

3. What's worse-too quiet or too loud? Which have you had more of lately?
I think this answer depends upon the atmosphere.  At a hockey game I tend to be cheering a tad bit over the decibel range.  In my day care I think the kids are playing *ahem* boisterously .  Quiet in my household is rare.  When I do have quiet time, I like to read.

4. This question comes to you from Zoanna over at A Penchant for Pens-thanks Zo!

When you are administratively gifted, how often do you find yourself not trusting less gifted people to do what they've committed to do?  If you are not so gifted that way, but are reliable, how do you feel when the stronger person (in that area) goes ahead and covers it before giving you a chance to come through?

I am a very organized person and I like a clean house.  I don't know if cleanliness is a gift or not and I don't think I judge people who aren't as "crazy clean" like I am.  This probably doesn't cover the question asked.  At the moment, it's all I got! ;-)

5. What is your most dreaded task relating to the holidays? Your most looked forward to holiday task?
Dreaded task is mall shopping.  I do not like crowds and refuse to go anywhere on Black Friday.
I love wrapping presents and making them look pretty!

6. Facebook has released its list of the 'most talked about' topics of 2013. Pope Francis took the number one spot.  Does that surprise you? He was followed by election, royal baby, typhoon, and Harlem Shake. Your thoughts? What was your most talked about topic in 2013? (Facebook, around the kitchen table, or wherever it is you talk)
When I think of "most talked about" topics, I assumed it would be some kind of scandal.  Boy was I wrong!  The Pope, eh?
The most important theme talked about *for me* is our family; good or bad, through think or thin.

7. What's something you consider a necessity that others might view as a luxury?
Getting my nails done every two weeks.  I love having french nails. It makes me feel pretty!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I only have a few purchases made for Christmas and the countdown is stressing me out.

4 pretty purplexing comments:

  1. I was trying to get out this morning, and got sidetracked filling out an insurance form, which prompted me to purge the medical file in our home office. This is why I don't get the stuff on my to do list done!

  2. There is something about a French manicure that makes my hands feel more elegant :)

  3. The Pope doing the Harlem Shack would be off the charts then?
I'm so glad I don't have the maintenance stuff women do.
