Conversations with Zachary {Our Cat}

Before I begin the conversation, you need to know some things about our cat, Libby. Since we rescued Libby (in 2007) she has always stayed upstairs.  She never came downstairs unless it was thundering, and then she would hide under the couch.  Recently she has been coming downstairs and laying on the couch.  I'm not sure what sparked her interest, especially since we got a puppy last year.  Maggie (our dog) tries to chase Libby, but Libby will stand her ground and hiss.  Perhaps this bravery has given her confidence to join us downstairs.



ME:
      Look Zachary, Libby is on the couch with me!

Zachary:
Glad to see her downstairs

ME:
It's thundering here. I can't believe she is not hiding. 

Zachary:
She needs love.

ME:
I've been scratching her belly. 

Zachary:
Have you been brushing her?

ME:
Yes.

Zachary:
She gets the less love of the household so I'm glad to hear that.

ME:
That's only because she is always hiding. =D

Zachary:
Cause she don't wanna see everyone else getting love! 

ME:
Zach! That's silly!

Zachary:
Put yourself in her paws

ME:
LOL

Corbie Dale update

We have had Corbie for almost 3 months.  She has gained some weight and looks very healthy now.  

She loves to chase little mouse toys across the bathroom floor. Whenever I go into the bathroom I have to fix the rugs because Corbie likes to slide into them.  

She likes to sleep on the ottoman in our living room.

She is such a curious kitty. Always climbing on my lap to see what I am doing.

And she loves to chew on the yarn when I am crocheting.

TGIF

Brandon had two games this weekend. By hockey standards, that's an easy weekend.  Friday night he played for his high school team.  

Saturday's game was with VFC (his travel team) and they played against the top team in their league.  VFC was the underdog and had three players missing due to injury. 

The Quakers bench is stacked!

Valley Forge Colonials only had 10 players.

My favorite play of the game! Brandon checking an opponent so hard that he flew up into the air. {Proud Hockey Mom Moment!} 

It was a competitive game. The boys hung in there but lost 7-5. 

They didn't hang their heads though! These boys are tough!

I got to see my all time favorite hockey player (#10 Philadelphia Flyers - now retired) John LeClair.  He was coaching his son and team: Junior Flyers.

 Also on the Jr. Flyers is the son of Chris Gratton (another former Flyers player).

After the hockey game we stopped at a sports grille restaurant for lunch.  The atmosphere was cool. We were surrounded by sports themes.  Of course my favorite is the hockey wall of fame.

The menu consisted of a lot of hamburgers and fatty foods.  I tried a creamy potato soup that didn't turn out to be creamy or good. 

 Unfortunately I don't think we will be going back there again.

Saturday night was date night.  We went to The Movie Tavern.  It's a movie theater where you can dine and watch a movie at the same time.  The seats are leather and comfy.  They have a TV tray that swivels and a cup holder.  You can even order WINE!  :-) And there is a little button you press if you need more wine service.  

My hubby, me, my BFF and her hubby went to see Underworld in 3D.

 Sunday was a day to relax.  

I tried to scrapbook, but Corbie kept getting in the way!

We spent the day at Todd's brothers house.  The Miller family celebrated with a late lunch, gifts galore and tons of fun!  

Ahren was ecstatic to get a new "green" coat.  I personally do not like the "puke" green color but it made him happy.  

Zach's favorite gift was the Nuggets sweatshirt he is wearing in the pictures.  

Brandon loves his new hockey stick and can't wait to try it out!

It was fun to see my nieces and nephew open their gifts.  The twinkle in their eye and excitement on their face… I miss when my boys were that age.
