He will be driving soon!

Zachary has his learners permit and is getting ready to take the BIG test!

We hired a driving instructor for one weekend to show him the course and go over anything Todd or I forgot to teach him.

Good Luck Zachary!

Ever get a golf ball stuck in the kitchen sink?

I did!
Trust me when I say it's no easy task to get it out.
I tried a fork, tongs, knife, spoon….

TIP: Use a vacuum cleaner hose to suction it out.

Medical Nightmare!

Last Thursday, my mother-in-law fell and broke her pelvis in three places.  She was in the hospital until Wednesday.  It took that long for the hospital to read her MRI and figure out what the best plan was for her to recover.  Surgery was an option, but one that should be the last resort.

The family chose to have her recover at home.  First she needed to be transferred to a nursing facility for rehabilitation.  Wednesday morning she arrived in her temporary home, which would be about a week.  We were told the staff at the nursing facility would show her how to get up and down, move about and even shower in a safe and pain free manner.

That was until wednesday afternoon, at 4pm, when my MIL called me.
First, they didn't give her any of her heart medication or pain medication throughout the day.  She had to ask for pain meds.
Second, the nursing facility gave her the wrong medication. Instead of a pain pill they gave her  an antihistamine.  Luckily it was nothing dangerous towards her health.   Her pain medication is Tylenol 3.  There is a '3' on the pill.  A trained nurse would know this.  A trained nurse should not have made that mistake!
Third, they were feeding her the wrong food.  My MIL has a heart condition and must have a low sodium diet.  When this was brought to the nurses attention, she insisted that my MIL was being fed the correct diet.  We had to show her the dinner ticket to prove it was a 'regular' diet and not a 'cardiac' diet.

Let me tell you, I was VERY ANGRY!

Ridiculous! That night the staff was informed she was going home!   It was arranged to have a hospital bed, wheel chair and walker put into their home.

Tomorrow she will be home, safe and sound!

Last song...

If there was one song that you could listen to for the rest of your days; or, it was the last song you'd ever hear: What song would you play?

I would pick our wedding song: Beautiful in my Eyes by Joshua Kadison.

You're my peace of mind in this crazy world.
You're everything I've tried to find, your love is a pearl.
You're my Mona Lisa, you're my rainbow skies,
and my only prayer is that you realize
you'll always be beautiful in my eyes.

The world will turn and the seasons will change,
and all the lessons we will learn will be beautiful and strange.
We'll have our fill of tears, our share of sighs.
And my only prayer is that you realize
you'll always be beautiful in my eyes.

You will always be beautiful in my eyes.
And the passing years will show
that you will always grow ever more beautiful in my eyes.

When there are lines upon my face from a lifetime of smiles,
and when the time comes to embrace for one long last while,
we can laugh about how time really flies.
We won't say goodbye 'cause true love never dies.
You'll always be beautiful in my eyes.

You will always be beautiful in my eyes.
And the passing years will show
that you will always grow ever more beautiful in my eyes.
The passing years will show that you will always grow
ever more beautiful in my eyes.
