Happy Birthday Brandon

Brandon had a few friends sleep over on his 12th birthday. The evening consisted of pizza, chips, soda, x-box tournament, computer games, staying up late (of course) and watching a scary movie! The next morning they got up and after a yummy breakfast, went outside to play basketball and football. I just had to put the picture of the dogs watching!

My garden

These are pictures of my garden. Recently we had a bad wind storm. There were trees with the roots knocked down. An awesome display of what mother nature can do. The four rows of corn I planted was blown over. I tried replanting, but I dont know if it will take. In the meantime, I picked snap peas and had them with dinner; made a salad with lettuce and green peppers. So yummy! I am beginning to see the zucchini bud and tomatoes will turn red soon. I also planted string beans, peas, cucumbers, basil, spinach and celery.

I have a boo-boo

Brandon had a friend sleep over last night. They asked if they could sleep in our pop-up camper. I tried to hook the hitch up with the boys, but it was too heavy and it feel down on my hand. I ripped off the tip of my finger and needed 4 stitches to try to put the skin back on. (In case you were wondering why I just didn't get my husband to do the heavy lifting: Todd and Zachary were golfing).
When I rushed into the house and held my finger under cold running water, Brandon wanted to call 911. Instead our neighbor took me to the emergency care center where Todd met me. While the doctor was putting needles in my hand, Todd almost passed out. I had my eyes closed and I could here the doctor say "Sir, are you okay?" Todd had to leave the room for a glass of water. He looked so pale! My knight in shinning armor can't stand the sight of blood!
I'm doing okay now. Just frustrated with my limitations. The pain medicine is helping to keep the throbbing down. I have to go back in a few days to make sure there is no infection. Never dull in the Miller house.

Taste the Rainbow

It has been raining for at least two weeks, if not more. Someone mentioned it felt like London. I think it felt more like we should be making reservations on Noah's Ark. Today was no different, it was pouring - then the sun would come out - it would rain again - then the sun would come out. {argh} By 8pm it was cloudy, but nice enough to sit outside on the porch and enjoy the cool air. While we were out, all of a sudden a huge rainbow appeared! I have never seen one so big and beautiful before. This picture does not do it justice. You could actually see six or seven colors. Amazing! I am hoping this is a sign from God that the next few days will be sunny!!

1st Hocky Injury

Nothing serious, don't worry! Brandon was skating yesterday, bit down too hard on his mouth gaurd and cracked a tooth in half. Luckily is was a baby molar. I had to take him to the dentist to have the tooth extracted. Brandon was a bit wary of the needle the doctor pulled out to numb his gumbs, but then when the needle went in Brandon started to giggle. Thats right - giggle! My son is so goofy! Now he is doing fine, all numbed up, gauze in mouth, proud of his first hockey injury!

Kilts in lacrosse

I looked online the origins of lacrosse. Wikipedia says it is a Native American sport. So how come there were grown men wearing kilts at the tournament Brandon played in??? I associate Kilts with handsome scottish Braveheart men.

Brandon played in a lacrosse tournament last weekend. He played three games and was exhausted by the time we got home. The second picture is Brandon's coach: Kurt. He was joking with Brandon that next year he and the kids should wear blue and pink kilts (check out the bottom picture - a coach from an opposing team was wearing a kilt). Brandon thought it was a cool idea!!! Should I really go kilt shopping??

Stanley Cup

The Feltenbergers were routing for Detroit (BOO!). My team wasn't in the Stanley Cup so I picked the Pittsburg Penguins to route for. It came down to this last game. And Pittsburg WON! OMG! Was not expecting THAT! Neither were the Feltenbergers!

It was a fairly humid evening, so the boys were throwing water balloons at each other (outdoors of course)!

Chad and Todd were relaxed during the game. Although I don't know how! I was on pins and needles the entire game!

Play Doh

Since the boys no longer have school, they have been having fun playing with Zoey. Here are some photos of them helping her with Play Doh.

Even Ellie is helping out!

Yikes!

I have a 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager. We purchased the van when Brandon was 6 months old. I have always taken care of it to make sure it would last (since it is paid off and it's nice not having a car payment).
My van was looking pretty dirty, so I decided to go thru a "touchless" car wash. You know, the kind that only sprays the water - no brushes to there are no scratches on the vehicle.
When I got home I noticed that the side panel was MISSING from the van! It would seem that the "touchless" car wash blew off a piece of my van! I went back and found the piece sitting to the side. A nice person must have propped it up against the wall in hopes the owner would return.
So now what? I guess I have to go to a body shop and have it put back on?? (FYI: the white marks above the panel area were from me hitting a guard rail. Totally different day and a LONG story!)

R.I.P.

Brandon and Ahren were fooling around, like brothers do, wrestling and being a bit rough for my comfort. Ahren ended up knocking one of Brandon's baby teeth out. (Thank God it was a baby tooth). Brandon being Brandon decided he had to bury his tooth, make a headstone, and put flowers on the "grave".
I must admit, my life with boys is NOT boring!
