He made Captain!

Brandon made Captain of both teams he plays for. His travel team (Valley Forge Colonials) and his high school team (Daniel Boone Blazers).
I am so very proud of Brandon and all the hard work he has done to earn the Captain status.

One problem.  I ironed the C on the wrong side of the jersey.
DOH!
This is a major catastrophe in the hockey world!
I was able to fix the C on the blue jersey with no problem.
The white jersey was another issue.
When I peeled the C off the jersey it left a blue outline of the letter.
For one week I tried so many different products to remove the dye,
it's a wonder the jersey hasn't fallen apart.

Products I tried:  bleach, Rit, white sharpie marker, white out, and paint.
I tried printing out a white square on transfer paper.  Nope, didn't work.
I took it to the dry cleaner and was told there was nothing they could do.
{sigh}
Any other ideas?
The travel team Brandon plays for developed a new website.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Brandon's picture on the left bottom corner on the home page.
Cool!!! Right?!?!

Brandon's travel team spent a weekend near Washington DC to participate in a tournament.
They didn't do well in the tournament.
Bummer!
We were thinking of sight seeing the Capitol, but it was the week the government was shut down.
Bummer!

Brandon spent some time in the penalty box
(that's his Dad, in the grey sweatshirt, manning the box).
I did not agree with the referee.  He said the penalty was for Interference.
I think the penalty should have been "the dude was in my face, so I dropped him".
The tournament wasn't all bad.  The boys had fun off the ice.
And I did get this really cool 'hockey mom' shirt!

His team is back practicing and getting ready for the next tournament in February.

Celebrating 70

Judy was surprised by her family with a 70th birthday party!

My friend, Heather made a 'quilt' cake for Judy.
Judy loves to quilt, so this was a perfect cake for her!
The grandchildren were Assistant-blower-out-candle-Helpers.

I miss my Teddy Bear

August 31st, my beloved dog, Teddy passed away due to complications of diabetes. He went blind and was in a lot of pain towards the end.  Logically I know I did the right thing, but I am taking it very hard that I had to let him go. My heart is breaking.
Teddy was the best dog a person could want.
He was a gentle dog.  He was a happy dog.  He was perfect.
Teddy is/was my baby.  He was devoted to me and loved me unconditionally.  I miss the way he followed me around the house, I miss the way he would sing to me when I would come home, I miss him sleeping on our bed and the way he laid at my feet.  I miss HIM!  I want Teddy to come home, I want to hold him again, I want to tell him how much I love him.  I want HIM back!
Ellie Mae missed Teddy too.  For the first week he was gone she wasn't herself.
Slowly she started to be her spunky self again.
Now Ellie is the one who follows me around the house and has to be in the same room as me.
My husband wants me to get another puppy.  He doesn't like to see me so sad and thinks a puppy will help me heal.  I can't do it. I am not ready to open my heart up. Not yet.
~
I love you Teddy!
