Corbie - week #3

Corbie is adjusting well.  She is a very, very curious cat!

This week she found the fish tank.
The fish keep her entertained and are not afraid to come right up to the glass and swish their tails at Corbie.  I think the fish are mentally sticking their tongues out at her!  =)

Corbie gently takes her paw and brushes it against the glass.

Ellie can't be left out on the action!
It's funny to see the dog watching the cat, who is watching the fish!

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Shopping Trip

Todd and I went Christmas shopping at the King of Prussia Mall.  The parking lots were filled and it was difficult to find a spot.  One lady even tried to steal my spot I was waiting for.  I think the evil look I gave her scared her away.  =)
There was a huge traffic jam ~ just waiting to get into the mall parking lot.

The King of Prussia Mall has two sections.  The Plaza and The Court.

The Plaza opened in 1963 as an open-air shopping mall with JCPenney, E. J. Korvette (department store), and an ACME supermarket. By the late 1970s it had become a partially enclosed super-regional mall adding Gimbels, and Wanamaker's.

The Court opened in 1981 as a fully enclosed mall with department stores such as: Bamberger's (later to become Macy's), Bloomingdale's, and Abraham & Straus.

There are plans to create an expansion to connect The Court and The Plaza. This new retail connector will feature over 40 stores, dining choices from some of Philadelphia's well known celebrity chefs, an upscale dining pavilion and a customer lounge.
This project will bring the largest shopping mall in the United States under one roof.

Merry Go Round

This tree was on top of the merry-go-round.  It was HUGE!

I personally like Lemon Sorbet.

Of course I had to find a store that had Hockey Stuff!!
I'm not brave enough to wear these stiletto's.  There were so many varieties in almost every shoe store!

We bought these purses for my nieces, Max & Morgan.  Todd and I had a fun time shopping and we got many deals!  I can't wait for Christmas!!!
Happy Monday!

O Christmas Tree!

Are you excited for Christmas yet?

10 more days!!!

Have you gotten all your shopping done???

I admit this year I am far behind on the Christmas shopping.   I haven't felt good this week.  I have gone through 2 boxes of tissues, have a redder nose than Rudolph, haven't moved from the couch, can't sleep at night because of the coughing, and just feel plain ole' miserable!   I went to the doctors last night and got an antibiotic for a sinus infection.
So now, not only am I behind on Christmas, but also on laundry and housework.

Luckily we got our tree BEFORE I got sick.  I'm glad I decorated it, because at this rate the decorations wouldn't be up until New Years...

~

HERE ARE THE PICTURES FROM OUR TREE HUNT!

Picking out the Tree...

Taking the tree home.  (My husband is the guy watching). =)

After I decorated...

Night time pictures are so much prettier...

He Did ..... What !?!?!?!

Zach has been asking for over a week to get his ears pierced.  Dad is a conservative kind-a-guy and was against it.   I wasn't as horrified by the idea.
Saturday night we were at one of Brandon's hockey games and I got a text from Zach.  It said:  I don't want Dad to hate me, but this is something I have to do.

When we got home, he had his ears pierced.  Dad was very upset and I tried to smooth things over.  I told Dad that it wasn't a tattoo or something that was permanent.  Earrings can be removed if we go somewhere we don't think is appropriate for him to wear them.
I am trying to be patient with Zach and understand that he is 16, wants some independence and freedom.  He is not always going to make the choices we would approve of.  I feel like I need to cut the apron strings, let him make a few choices, choose the battles I need to fight with him, and let him grow into a man.

I'd like to know what you would do.  Honest opinions please!

Pretty Pointsettias

Legend has it that the poinsettia made its first appearance in the hands of a poor Mexican girl, named Pepita, who had no gift to present the baby Jesus on Christmas Eve.
Pepita created a bouquet of weeds gathered from the side of the road.
But realizing they were a sad excuse for a gift, she fought back tears as she approached the altar where there was a statue of Jesus.
As she handed them over, she happened to glance down and see that her weeds miraculously transformed into a red bouquet of flowers — poinsettias.

When we went to pick out a Christmas tree I was amazed at all the Poinsettias.
The colors in the pictures do not do it justice.

I love the different shades of colors the Poinsettias come in...

and the rich, vibrant red is gorgeous!

Corbie Dale - Week #2

A strange black cat on your porch brings prosperity. - Scottish superstition

Corbie plays with the little mouse toys day and night.

She purrs softly and is content when you scratch behind her ears.

She found my potted plants and even pooped in one (yikes)!

I am happy to report that Corbie's fur has become softer and silky. She is no longer dehydrated. She is still skinny, but eats well - so I am sure she will add on some pounds soon.
