Since the boys can remember I have always talked about
Aunt Martha coming to visit. My husband would ask me
"Are you crabby since Aunt Martha is on her way?" or "
Why are you crying? Is Aunt Martha coming?". Aunt Martha is nothing but a pain that I must endure once a month!
My husband rejoices when Aunt Martha goes home! The boys couldn't understand why I
HATE Aunt Martha. I know "hate" is a strong word, but as women I think you can understand.
Zachary is 13, going on 14. It was a priceless moment to see his face light up with understanding when he realized
Aunt Martha was not a real person, but that time of the month women must face. He said quote: "
I wondered why I never saw Aunt Martha and why you hated her so much."
I couldn't help but laugh out loud!
i feel your pain Tami! i had a hysterectomy in June and don't miss aunt martha AT ALL!
ReplyDeleteI bet that was a priceless and funny moment when Zachary found out about AUNT MARTHA.
ReplyDeleteMy sister Karen and her friends used to call it Joan.
ReplyDeleteJoan was the first girl to get her period that they knew, in fouth grade-poor kid!
I think your sons will be more sensitive than most when their girlfriends/wives have "Aunt Martha."
At least they are aware!
Too funny! I always called mine Aunt Flo. I too had a hysterectomy, 6 years ago, and the happiest day of my life after my wedding day and the birth of my son was the day I threw out all the feminine hygiene products!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Tami!! Aunt Martha quietly left the building long ago in my part of the world!!! Don't miss that old witch!!! :)
ReplyDeletePS Commenters, your comments are very entertaining and making me laugh!!! xo
ReplyDeleteYou are all too funny! :)
