Friday

This time last week I was on the road to South Carolina. It was a long trip, but worth it to visit with my Nanny and Dad.

Getting to the gym is a struggle for me. It's hard to get motivated.  My son is good about pushing me to get in the car and GO.  He likes to work out and I am the only way he can get there.  I ran into an acquaintance there last night. She has never seen my teenage.  When I introduced him to her, she said: "Well Hell-O!"  I know she was kidding (Brandon is 15 after all), but the compliment had him blushing.  I could see it made him feel graciously embarrassed and puff up with "peacock" pride.

This hockey fan is angry!  The NHL has cancelled the first two weeks of the regular season with no hope of a resolution any time soon.

After waiting two months to get my boys into a dermatologist, they called me to cancel the appointment. Their excuse was an new computer system they are updating and the office staff needed to get training.  To top it off, they couldn't reschedule us for another two months!  Totally unacceptable!!  Especially since it is difficult for me to schedule a day off.  My parents are counting on me to watch their child in my day care.  It is rare that I ask for a personal day because they are inconvenienced when I ask for a day off.   Needless to say, I contacted a different dermatologist.

I am looking forward to the weekend!  Happy Friday to ALL!!!

  1. I am so frustrated with this work stoppage ... I cannot believe we're going through this *AGAIN* ...

That is totally unacceptable ... seems kind of a lame reason to cancel, but to have to wait for a rescheduled appointment is just wrong, wrong, wrong. I don't blame you for finding another dermatologist ... I would have, too. ;-)

  5. I don't watch hockey (or any sports for that matter) so it won't bother me, but I'm sorry for all that do like to watch.

For many years we only had one dermatologist in town and it took forever to get in and then you waited in the waiting room forever.......then a new doctor came to town with ads of same day appointments and oh, did things change fast!

  6. Hooray for the new dermatologist that opened up his shop in nancygrayce's town! I love when somebody shows up and shows everyone that there's a Better Way.

It is just wrong to have the experience you had with the rescheduling! Wrong, wrong, wrong! (and I worked in a doctor's office for years!)

  7. I wondered why the Kings were not playing in Vegas this month... now I know. I do hope they do not cancel the entire season this year. Have a grand weekend.

    1. I hope not too. I look forward to hockey every year. To go without a season totally sucks! At least I have my son's hockey games to go to. :)
